Early in
his career, Greg's special sound led to an invaluable audition with Carlos
Santana. His selection as lead vocalist for The Santana Band increased
his artistic freedom and gave him international acclaim. Greg added new
life to Santana's most popular material, introduced such hits as the unforgettable Stormy, and demonstrated his songwriting skills as a contributing
writer. Touring Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States, Greg
thrilled audiences with his dynamic style and became the focal point of
the group's new sound. His talents led Santana into the musical
mainstream with three platinum albums; Amigos, Inner Secrets and Moonflower.
Subsequently,
Greg became a highly sought-after lead singer for such distinguished musicians
and recording artists, such as Herbie Hancock, Kenny G., Jeff
Lorber, Rodney Franklin, and Keiko Matsui.
Ever versatile,
he has performed with Joan Baez, including a concert performance with
the Boston Pops Orchestra, which was taped for a T.V. special. Always
one who elevates to personal achievement heights, Greg equally divided
his energies between touring and recording his first solo album "Love
You So Good", and simultaneously earning his Bachelor's Degree in
Liberal Arts.
Mr. Walker is the recipient of the Los Angeles Music Awards Career Achievement Award, and he maintains an active touring schedule, performing to sold-out venues from London
